How to prepare your sofa before a professional cleaning visit

A few minutes of prep helps our team get to every part of the sofa and reduces the risk of damage to nearby items.

Preparation tips

What to do

  • Clear the sofa of cushions, throws and any loose items so we can access the full surface.
  • Move small, fragile items (lamps, ornaments) away from the immediate work area.
  • Point out any existing damage, loose stitching or particularly delicate areas before work starts, so we know what's already there versus what happens during the visit.

What to avoid

  • Avoid applying your own stain remover or cleaning product right before the appointment — it can react unpredictably with our treatment and make some stains harder to treat.
  • Avoid leaving the sofa hard to access (pushed tight against a wall, blocked by other furniture) — we need space to work around it.

When to call a professional

If you're not sure whether a stain or mark is safe to leave until the appointment, ask when you book rather than treating it yourself in the meantime — some early treatments make the professional's job harder, not easier.
